Rolltect Awnings

We exclusively use Rolltec  awning products as they require no maintenance (other than rinsing off the fabric cover periodically), due to the combination of a strong, rust free frame with a self-lubricating mechanism, and durable, water repellent fabrics. Rolltec  awnings have long term manufacturer’s warranties and are renowned for achieving the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Each awning is manufactured to the specifications of the client, and with that, we are able to get your awning within an inch of your desired width, allowing your home and awning to flow together as a single design, without any bulky ends sticking out of the designated area, thus maximizing your outdoor living experience. Since our awnings are manufactured right here in Ontario, we have faster turn-around times than other awning companies.

With consumers becoming more aware of the risks due to the extended exposure to sun and UV rays, the demands for sun protection from awning industry has grown accordingly. Understanding the needs and demands from our clients, we offer a huge variety of fabrics and options for our awnings.

How To Size Your Awning

1. Determine the Awning’s Width

  • Installation requires an unobstructed, flat, horizontal strip of surface of the same width as the awning. See inside for installation types.
  • The width is the outside dimensions of the frame. The fabric is 5” to 6” narrower than the frame.

2. Pick the Awning’s Projection

  • Measure the protrusion of your existing patio or deck to see how much horizontal cover you need. Pick one of the standard awning projections from the table below to best suit your requirements.
  • The angle of the awning’s inclination can be easily changed between 5° and 80°. An awning needs at least a 15° slope to be usable for light rain protection.
  • The table below shows horizontal coverage at a 15° slope for various projections.

3. Determine the Installation Height

  • Estimate how much headroom at the front of the awning you need to use the awning comfortably.
  • Look up the vertical drop for your choice of projection, add headroom and vertical drop to get installation height.
